Discipleship Training (DT)
The Discipleship Training program is at the heart of the spiritual formation efforts of Gura Ukuri Biblical College. It was founded with the conviction that discipleship is not just a phase in the Christian journey, but the very foundation of a transformed life and effective ministry. Rooted in Jesus’ command to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19), this program exists to cultivate a deep, authentic walk with Christ and to raise believers who live out their faith with purpose, maturity, and impact.
The Discipleship Training program was developed in response to a growing need for intentional, biblical mentoring within the Church. Many believers were coming to faith, but few were being grounded in the Word, shaped in character, and equipped to disciple others. Gura Ukuri Biblical College launched this initiative to close that gap and foster a culture of spiritual growth, accountability, and multiplication.
This training emphasizes holistic discipleship addressing spiritual maturity, personal character, biblical knowledge, and practical obedience. Students go through structured teaching, one-on-one mentorship, small group discussions, and life-on-life ministry experiences. Topics covered include spiritual disciplines, Christian identity, servant leadership, biblical worldview, and evangelistic lifestyle.
The program is not limited to those preparing for full-time ministry; it is designed for every believer who desires to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and influence others for the Kingdom. Many graduates of the Discipleship Training have gone on to serve as mentors, church leaders, community influencers, and missionaries, multiplying what they have learned into the lives of others.
Through the Gura Ukuri Discipleship Training, the college continues to fulfill its mission of developing Christ like leaders who are firmly rooted in God’s Word, filled with the Holy Spirit, and passionate about making disciples who make disciples.
