GURA UKURI WORLDWIDE MISSIONS: Rules and Regulations

Preamble: GURA UKURI WORLDWIDE MISSIONS is a faith-based organization established to carry out the mission of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and fulfilling the Great Commission. Guided by the principles in the Word of God, we are committed to transforming lives through faith, service, and the power of the Holy Spirit. In pursuit of this mission, we establish the following rules and regulations to govern the conduct, values, and activities of all members, leaders, and partners involved in the ministry of GURA UKURI.

  1. Faith and Doctrine: All members and staff of GURA UKURI WORLDWIDE MISSIONS must adhere to and uphold the core beliefs outlined in our Statement of Faith, including:
  • The belief in the Trinity: one eternal God manifested in three distinct persons—God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.
  • The divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ, His death, resurrection, and ascension.
  • The Bible as the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God, the ultimate guide for faith and practice.
  • Salvation through repentance, faith in Jesus Christ, and living in accordance with God’s will.
  1. Commitment to Evangelism and Discipleship: Members are expected to actively participate in evangelism and discipleship efforts. This includes:
  • Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others and inviting them into a personal relationship with Him.
  • Engaging in discipleship to foster spiritual growth, training others to follow Christ, and building the body of believers.
  • Encouraging a life transformed by faith, guided by Scripture and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
  1. Mission Mandate and Global Outreach: All members are required to support and participate in the mission of fulfilling the Great Commission by:
  • Reaching unreached people groups with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Planting indigenous churches that are self-governing, self-propagating, and self-supporting.
  • Engaging in both local and global outreach, with a specific focus on supporting missions that emphasize the autonomy and growth of local churches.
  1. Teamwork and Unity: We believe that God’s work is best accomplished through unity and collaboration. Members and leaders must:
  • Actively participate in teamwork, contributing their talents and resources to the mission.
  • Work in harmony with fellow believers, reflecting the divine cooperation within the Trinity.
  • Value the input of others, recognizing the importance of each individual’s role in fulfilling the mission.
  1. Ethical Conduct and Integrity: Members of GURA UKURI WORLDWIDE MISSIONS are expected to:
  • Live a life of righteousness, holiness, and integrity, as guided by Scripture.
  • Exhibit honesty, love, compassion, and respect in all dealings, both within the ministry and with the public.
  • Maintain transparency and accountability in all financial dealings, ensuring that resources are used wisely and for the furthering of God’s Kingdom.
  1. Baptism and Sacraments: GURA UKURI upholds the practice of water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ as an essential step in the believer’s journey. All members must:
  • Be baptized as an outward expression of an inward transformation, identifying with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.
  • Participate in the Lord’s Supper (Communion) as a regular practice that symbolizes our ongoing relationship with Christ.
  1. Empowerment and Role of the Holy Spirit: All believers are encouraged to:
  • Seek the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in their daily lives, allowing the Spirit to equip them for service, witness, and godly living.
  • Demonstrate the evidence of the Holy Spirit in their lives, including the gift of tongues and other spiritual manifestations as described in the New Testament.
  • Rely on the Holy Spirit for strength, guidance, and wisdom in carrying out the mission of the church.
  1. Training and Capacity Building: GURA UKURI believes in equipping believers to live out their faith and advance God’s Kingdom. Therefore, all members must:
  • Participate in ongoing discipleship and training programs, focused on spiritual growth and leadership development.
  • Commit to becoming effective witnesses of Christ, building up the Church, and advancing the mission of God in their communities and beyond.
  1. Local Church Empowerment: We believe in the establishment of indigenous churches that are self-governing, self-propagating, and self-supporting. To achieve this, members must:
  • Support the development of local leadership within indigenous churches and communities.
  • Encourage local churches to take responsibility for their own evangelism, discipleship, and financial support.
  • Promote sustainable initiatives that help local churches become self-reliant and capable of sustaining their ministries.
  1. Respect for the Body of Christ: Members of GURA UKURI are to honor and support one another as fellow members of the body of Christ. This includes:
  • Recognizing the Church as the people of God, called to make disciples and spread the Gospel.
  • Respecting the diversity of the body of Christ while maintaining unity in mission and purpose.
  • Engaging in regular fellowship and support, as outlined in Scripture, to strengthen and build up one another in faith.
  1. Financial Responsibility and Stewardship: GURA UKURI emphasizes the importance of responsible stewardship of financial resources. All members and leaders must:
  • Ensure transparency and accountability in all financial matters, both personally and within the ministry.
  • Contribute to the financial sustainability of the mission, whether through tithes, offerings, or other resources.
  • Strive for financial independence for local churches and ministries, promoting sustainable models that do not rely on external funding indefinitely.
  1. Compliance with Local and International Laws: Members and leaders are expected to comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations, especially those relating to:
  • Missionary activities, including travel and outreach programs.
  • The establishment and governance of local churches and ministries.
  • Ethical conduct and safeguarding of vulnerable individuals within the ministry.
