School of Mission (SOM)
The School of Mission at Gura Ukuri Bible College was born out of a deep desire to respond to God’s global call to raise up laborers for the harvest and to prepare men and women who are willing to go wherever the Gospel is needed most. With Acts 1:8 as its foundation, the School of Mission is dedicated to training missionaries who are both spiritually grounded and strategically equipped for cross-cultural ministry.
Founded as a key arm of Gura Ukuri Biblical College, the School of Mission reflects the institution’s broader vision of advancing the Kingdom of God through sound biblical education and practical ministry training. This school was specifically designed to serve as a launching pad for missionary work, especially in unreached and underserved regions. It provides students with a deep understanding of missiology, cultural anthropology, global church history, and strategic mission planning.
The training goes beyond the classroom. Through internships, field assignments, and mission exposure trips, students are immersed in the realities of global ministry. They learn how to navigate cultural differences, communicate the Gospel effectively in diverse contexts, and work with local churches and mission agencies to foster long-term impact.
The School of Mission partners with national and international mission organizations, allowing students to engage in real-world service and build meaningful networks that support their future calling. Many graduates from the school have become frontline missionaries, church planters, and mission leaders across Africa and beyond.
As the world continues to change, the School of Mission remains committed to adapting its strategies while staying true to its biblical roots forming mission-minded servants who are ready to go, give, and pray for the sake of the nations.
